Dear IASA Members,
In preparation for the Conference General Assembly on 27 October 2020 15.00-17.30 GMT, I am writing to inform and request your approval of two items that I will propose and discuss at the General Assembly. As our GA is virtual this year, I am sending you this message in advance to streamline the voting process. The Executive Board seeks approval to create two new committees. All current IASA committees and sections are focused on the field of audiovisual archiving. We seek to create two new committees that support the operations and agenda of IASA itself.

2020 is Beethoven year: The name of Beethoven is on everyone’s lips, in academia and the media, in concert halls and the recording industry. His 250th birthday offers many reasons to look back at the past.
However, the special event “Beethoven 2020/2030. Music in the Digital Present and Future” to be held by the European national libraries is using this occasion as an opportunity to look forward.
