COVID-19: a driver for change in access to audiovisual heritage collections

Approximately six months have passed since the coronavirus outbreak. The cultural and creative industries (CCI), were forced to adapt quickly to the new realm and reposition themselves in the dramatically changed operational context. Most of the discussions and reports that have been shared to date regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the CCI sector focus on the negative consequences.

Launch of the IASA Preservation Training Programme

 The International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) is delighted to announce the launch of the IASA Preservation Training Programme. Developed by IASA’s Training and Education Committee, it is intended to share and develop audiovisual archival skills wherever in the world they are most needed.

Call for proposals - extension announced

Dear all,

The joint 51st IASA Conference and 44th FIAT/IFTA World Conference, titled, “Collaborate, Connect, Transform: A partnership of world experts in media and audiovisual archives” will be held from 26 to 29 October 2020, in Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.

Due to uncertainties created by the corona virus pandemic, the deadline for the submission of proposals has been extended for 1 month, until April 15.
