iPRES is a series of conferences on digital preservation. Since 2004, iPRES conferences have been held on four continents. iPRES is the only international forum devoted to digital preservation. It brings together 300-400 scientists, students, researchers, librarians, archivists and other experts to share recent developments, innovative projects and to collaboratively solve problems.
27 October has been proclaimed as World Day for Audiovisual Heritage by UNESCO’s General Conference to raise awareness of the importance of audiovisual documents and to draw attention to the urgent need to protect them.

Film Heritage Foundation announced the third edition of the Film Preservation & Restoration Workshop India 2017 (FPRWI 2017) on May 1, 2017 at the FIAF Congress in Los Angeles.
FPRWI 2017 is a 7-day workshop from October 7 – 14, 2017 that is an initiative of Film Heritage Foundation and The International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) in association with The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project, L’Immagine Ritrovata, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Prasad Corp., La Cinémathèque française, Imperial War Museums, Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna and Kodak.
