Survey of Existing Sound Recordings in Collections in United States

In 2014, AVPreserve and the Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC), with funding from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, undertook an in-depth, multi-faceted assessment to quantify the existing audio items held in institutional collections throughout the United States. This was performed in response to The Library of Congress National Recording Preservation Plan and its call for the appraisal of collections, as well as to establish a foundation for articulating the current preservation need of sound recordings in collections nationwide.

The Workshop is scheduled for Thursday, 17th of September 2015 at the magnificent Villa Contarini - Fondazione Ghirardi, in Piazzola sul Brenta, near Padova, Italy.

This Workshop brings together world-renown experts in the fields of archival science and computer science in order to discuss the importance of digital philology in the preservation of sound heritage.

Museum collection of rare Indian shellac records

My collection of more than 200 gramophones and nearly 100,000 records are being moved into a new building in Plassanal, Kerala, India. Inauguration of the Museum cum Archive is scheduled for 26th January 2015. A seminar will be conducted on 25th and 26th January.
