PREMIS is a widely adopted metadata standard for digital preservation. It standardizes the documentation of limited technical, administrative, and rights information for the purpose of digital stewardship of information artifacts. This workshop introduces the standard, including the basic entities and the relationships between them. After this introduction, participants will have the opportunity to practice working with the larger theoretical concepts and to manipulate a basic PREMIS record serialized in XML.
