Every year on the 27th of October we celebrate World Day for World Audiovisual Heritage. On this day, since 2005, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has chosen to highlight the importance of audiovisual documents and the risks associated with their preservation.
In this regard, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania is delighted to invite you to the International Conference on Audiovisual Heritage, which will be held online on the 5th of November 2020, to discuss issues of audiovisual heritage management and dissemination.

Thanks to Peter Laurence, for chairing the Nominating Committee along with Gabriele Fröschl and Grace Koch. I'm pleased and looking forward to working with the new board over the next three years.

Description
During the ongoing pandemic, memory institutions are experiencing renewed pressure to provide user-friendly remote access to sound and image heritage. However, not all audio-visual content is in a ready to share form.

Dear IASA Members,
In preparation for the Conference General Assembly on 27 October 2020 15.00-17.30 GMT, I am writing to inform and request your approval of two items that I will propose and discuss at the General Assembly. As our GA is virtual this year, I am sending you this message in advance to streamline the voting process. The Executive Board seeks approval to create two new committees. All current IASA committees and sections are focused on the field of audiovisual archiving. We seek to create two new committees that support the operations and agenda of IASA itself.
