2020 is Beethoven year: The name of Beethoven is on everyone’s lips, in academia and the media, in concert halls and the recording industry. His 250th birthday offers many reasons to look back at the past.
However, the special event “Beethoven 2020/2030. Music in the Digital Present and Future” to be held by the European national libraries is using this occasion as an opportunity to look forward.

As a follow up to the previous day’s webinar on Disability Consciousness Raising, this session will provide a number of perspectives on actionable ways audiovisual archivists can better provide access to their collections and online, as well as to their physical spaces.
The COVID-19 crisis has further heightened the need, understanding and collective awareness of online remote access to collections for all people—including those with disabilities. This webinar was programmed in response to requests for additional training during last year’s “Visible and Invisible Disabilities” Focus Group hosted by AMIA and the NFPB. In an effort to raise collective awareness around these issues, AMIA is delighted to have Drs. Raphael Raphael and Tom Conway (of the University of Hawai’i Center on Disability Studies) share their expertise and experience.
