[from SEAPAVAA]: Two Audiovisual Archive Conferences in Asia-Pacific in June 2011
The Southeast Asia-Pacific Audiovisual Archive Association (SEAPAVAA) will be organising two conferences in 2011: the 15th SEAPAVAA Conference and General Assembly (6-10 June) in Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia and the 1st SEAPAVAA Pacific Conference and Workshop (June 27 - July 1) in Noumea - New Caledonia.

Former National Film and Sound Archive Film Curator Dave McGrouther has joined DAMsmart, an audiovisual digitisation agency in Australia. Dave, who will head up their Film Services Division, is well known in the industry as a film preservation expert, having spent 14 years at the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA), most recently in an executive role as Film Curator.

The Education and Training Committee of the Association for Recorded Sound Collections presents "Audio Archives 101: Identification, Organization, Preservation." The workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., at the Wilshire Grand, Los Angeles, California.
