IASA would like to thank our very first conference sponsor at the Gold Level, the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. Not only are they our conference hosts, but they are providing generous funding support that will help us provide foundational financial, technical, and educational resources to the sound and audiovisual archival community.

The 49^th IASA Conference took place in Accra, Ghana from 1 to 4 October 2018 under the theme Access and Accessibility - Archival Policies and Barriers in the Age of Global Information Exchange. This gathering truly embodied the notion of global information exchange as it was attended by delegates from 29 countries.

I am happy to announce that issue 49 of the IASA Journal has been published online for the first time on the new IASA Journal web platform:

For the first time, the IASA Journal presents its content as open-access scholarship available to all. We hope this is a step forward in growing the reach of IASA and sharing broadly the valuable knowledge of IASA's community.
