Final week for ‘early bird’ registration for 2018 IASA conference

Dear all,

the ‘early bird’ registration for 2018 IASA conference in Accra, Ghana, ends in just 1 week, on September 3, so don’t delay – register now!

Please note that Ghana visa requirements are quite stringent, and it might take time to receive it. The visa and entry requirement guidelines on the IASA 2018 conference website are a good place to start, please have a look: . However, the requirements for obtaining visa, as well as visa cost, are different from embassy to embassy. I sincerely advise you not to delay your visa application.

Among the documents that you might need to supply for Ghana visa, most likely will be the following:

  • An invitation letter from invitee with a copy of a photo ID – please write to Mr. Akunu Dake (, our local conference manager in Accra to request this
  • copy of travel tickets
  • a letter from your employer confirming your employment, salary, and your intention to return
  • a certificate of vaccination for yellow fever
  • copy of your bank financial statement or pay slip
  • proof of payment for the visa
  • your passport

Usually an online visa application needs to be filled out first, and do read the visa requirements on the appropriate website carefully. Please also note that visa on arrival is granted only in rare cases, so it is really advisable to get it before travelling to Ghana!

It promises to be a really exciting and unique conference, and I invite you to join us for a chance to sample Ghanaian culture and traditions, share and acquire knowledge, and meet and network with colleagues old and new!

Take a look at the conference website for information about the programme, venue, social events, advice and much more.
