Signal extraction from original carriers is one of the central parts of safeguarding contents of traditional single carriers - analogue and digital. The observation of the archiving principles, as laid down in IASA TC-03, requires a bundle of technical matters to correctly and completely extract the contents from historic, and less historic carriers. Following chapter 5 of TC 04, the tutorial will explain that responsible signal extraction is more than just pressing the replay button.
