Theme: A Loss of Pace: Preserving Climate Narratives, Cultural Identity, and Marginalized Voices through Audiovisual Media

The IASA 2025 Conference will explore the critical role of audiovisual media in documenting and preserving stories of displacement, resilience, and loss as climate change transforms landscapes and challenges cultural identities. Presentations will focus on examining the preservation of climate-impacted media—such as film, sound, audiovisual records, and scientific data—and to address the intersections of climate, culture, and marginalized identities, including Polynesian third-gender perspectives and indigenous knowledge systems .
