2020 has been a tough and challenging year for all of us.  The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to reflect, rethink, re-evaluate how we work and live, changing our attitudes on what we once took for granted. On this note, we are truly grateful to our members for continuing to support SEAPAVAA in this difficult time. We look forward to a brighter horizon in the coming year.

We’re pleased to share the Call for Presentations for the second Inward Outward symposium, taking place April 6–9, 2021. This year’s edition will be held online due to the constraints of the pandemic.

Inward Outward investigates the status of moving image and sound archives as they intertwine with questions of coloniality, identity and race.

presentations, posters, and panels at its 55th annual conference, to be held
virtually, May 13-15, 2021.

Recognizing that the online platform for the 2021 conference offers
opportunities for global participation, we invite sound recording
historians, collectors, preservationists, and creators to engage on a broad
range of topics that cross geographic, cultural, and collection boundaries.
