The prototyping phase of the public pre-commercial procurement project PREFORMA started on April 14th 2015, with the announcement of the three winners. The aim of PREFORMA (http://www.preforma-project.eu/) is to develop an open-source toolset for the conformance checking of digital files intended for long-term preservation in memory institutions.

We are evaluating the new EUscreen portal we launched back in October.

With the new release we put a lot of effort into converting the video playout to the HTML5 standard and optimising the interface for tablets and smartphones. Now, after being live for five months, it is time to learn what its users think about the new portal, its design and its features.

We launched an online survey to gather your valuable feedback. The outcomes will help us better tailor our portal to the needs of EUscreen users and prioritise the creation of new functionalities.

The 12th BAAC Annual Conference - Echoes of the Past, Insights to the Future - will be held this year from October 28 to 30 in Tallinn, Estonia, in the Baltic Film and Media School of Tallinn University - one of the largest film schools in Europe. The conference will be hosted by the National Archives of Estonia, Estonian Literary Museum, National Library of Estonia, Estonian Public Broadcasting and Art Museum of Estonia.
