Archiving Tomorrow 2013

Date:
20 Nov 2013 to 22 Nov 2013
Location:
Salford, UK

The conference is to bring together Archivists, Academics and Film Makers, Editors, Producers, Directors and so forth to discuss, debate and learn about the indepth revolution that is the transitional period between Film and Digital.

Through interviews and presentations, workshops and panels with producers, technologists, commercial archives, regional archives, major television channels, hollywood movie makers, research and development teams, academics and projects, we look to examine all aspects of filmmaking, from capture to edit, visual effects to color correction, distribution to archive. At this moment in time when digital and photochemical filmmaking coexist, our aim is to explore and discover more on exactly what has been gained, what is lost, and what the future might bring.

Supported by leading figures in the film and broadcast community, Archiving Tomorrow will become the premier annual media event for archivists, film makers, creatives, academics and those wishing to find out about this exciting area.

AT-13 will be an outstanding opportunity for all those interested in the fast-moving area of media creation and preservation to mix with experts in the field, exchange experiences and learn about the latest techniques and developments. Participants can also achieve a publication in a professionally produced volume of proceedings.

We are currently seeking members of the Archiving Tomorrow community to come forward and serve on the International Programme Committee for this new leading conference. Also we welcome expressions of interest from those wishing to submit a paper/presentation, run a invited paper session or display their products or services.
