This Award is named in recognition of Dr. Dietrich Schüller's significant contributions to developing audiovisual archiving standards and for his passionate advocacy for and participation in training in audiovisual archiving practises worldwide. This Award is intended to provide opportunities for professional development where it is most needed. The Carl Fleischhauer Award is given to individuals who embody the qualities of Fleischhauer's legacy by demonstrating a thoughtful and intentional commitment to advancing the dialogue of audiovisual preservation.
Nominations are welcomed from anyone, inclusion of age, race, colour, gender identity, national origin, or religion. The Award consists of a five-year IASA membership to support the recipient's learning, engagement, and professional development.
