NFSA Research Fellowships

NATIONAL FILM AND SOUND ARCHIVE OF AUSTRALIA SCHOLARS AND ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS - 2012

The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) invites proposals from people who wish to conduct high level research into the national audiovisual collection. This research may take various forms: an academic may want to write a book or produce a website; a creative artist may wish to create a film, musical composition, dance piece or some other artwork; a curator may wish to create an exhibition; historians, scientists and policymakers may wish to delve into Australia’s audiovisual past.

Scholars and Artists in Residence (SAR) are based in the NFSA’s Residence in Canberra which is next-door to the archive, with a fully equipped workspace in the residential quarters. While they do not receive stipends or travel allowances, they have full access to the library, mentored access to the collection, participate in NFSA events and activities and work closely with NFSA curators and technical experts.

Applications for 2012 SAR Fellowships close at noon on Friday 9 September 2011.
