2017 IASA Conference - 3rd Keynote Address

Dear colleagues --

This year's IASA conference in Berlin will feature three keynote speakers during the course of the week. We will be promoting each of these idea leaders leading up to the conference.

I am happy to introduce you all to the third keynote speaker: Dr. Ing. Joachim Köhler.

Dr.-Ing. Joachim Köhler is head of the NetMedia department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) and is responsible for the business areas »Content Technologies and Services« and »Image Processing«. His research and development work includes solutions and systems for the analysis and management of digital content. He holds numerous lectures and workshops, especially for the media industry, on the subject of digital transformation and Big Data.

Prior to joining the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in 1999, he worked in the research department of Siemens AG in Munich and in Bocholt on multilingual speech recognition (1994 - 1999). Joachim Köhler studied at the RTWH Aachen. His research and interests are in the fields of content technologies (innovative methods for the development of multimedia content), big data and language processing. Dr. Joachim Köhler holds lectures at the RWTH Aachen University in the field of language informatics at B-IT.

Dr. Köhler will be delivering his keynote address on Thursday September 21, 2017 15:30pm-16:15pm in the Ethnologisches Museum, Room 1 (Auditorium off the Lower Foyer) Lansstraße 8, Berlin, Germany.
