Gamage

Annotation:

"The first Gamage label (actually labelled "A.W. Gamage") was manufactured by Crystalate for A. W. Gamage Ltd, of Holborn, London, a well-known department store. The records used masters from the Invicta Record Company, also issued on their own "Guardsman" label. These recordings date from pre-1920. The known examples imply that there are just over 100 different A.W. Gamage issues (numbered logically from 1), which also implies the label wasn't around for very long. (Note: There was an earlier series, labelled "Champion Gamage", which will be found in the "C" section of my listings)."
