During the ongoing pandemic, memory institutions are experiencing renewed pressure to provide user-friendly remote access to sound and image heritage. However, not all audio-visual content is in a ready to share form.

The British and Irish Sound Archives organising committee is pleased to announce that the BISA Conference for 2020 will be held virtually this year, on Friday 27th November.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Old Sounds, New Media: the Creative and Ethical Use of Archive Recordings”.

We hope this will be an opportunity to explore the applications of archival sound recordings in the creative fields and to discuss the practicalities of finding, understanding and using sounds in an ethical way.
