27 October has been proclaimed as World Day for Audiovisual Heritage by UNESCO’s General Conference to raise awareness of the importance of audiovisual documents and to draw attention to the urgent need to protect them.

The International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML) will hold its 2026 Congress in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 28 June to 3 July 2026, marking both IAML’s 75th anniversary and the first time the congress is hosted in Greece.
