IASA Privacy Policy

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), approved by the EU Parliament, took effect in Europe on 25 May 2018. With reference to this please note the following:

The type of personal information IASA collects

We currently collect and process the following information about IASA members: personal names and contact details (addresses, emails and phone numbers), and membership payments.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you in order to: apply or renew or administer memberships, or apply for IASA awards, or to conduct elections, or to contact you from time to time about your membership or other necessary IASA business.

We do not share this information with other organisations nor with individuals outside the IASA membership.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are: (a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting the IASA Secretary General (see below); (b) We have a legitimate interest.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored electronically. We keep your information for a period of 5 years or for as long as your membership lasts, whichever is longer.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
